Trust your instincts...

Everybody says "Trust your instincts", and i do trust my instincts. But the question here arises is how to distinguish between the "instinct" and the other voices in your head? These voice could be our optimism or pessimism or simply what you really wish to happen. So how to tell that the voice that's whispering in your head is your instinct and not something else? A voice in my head, at this time, is screaming that something nice is going to happen, but how do I know that it's the instinct that needs to be trusted, and not what I really wish to happen. Only time would tell what it was.

Hi... I am back...

It's been over a month since I posted anything on my blog. I was away for a holiday- went to mussoorie, "the queen of hills", for 3 days. Such a short holiday is not really a reason to neglect my blog, but it's more of an excuse than a reason :P. So had a blast with my family. Most of the time I was busy clicking pics of nature. Here are few pics-

The 99 club

Came across this story -

Once upon a time, there lived a King who, despite his luxurious lifestyle, was neither happy nor content. One day, the King came upon a servant who was singing happily while he worked. This fascinated the King; why was he, the Supreme Ruler of the Land, unhappy and gloomy, while a lowly servant had so much joy. The King asked the servant, "Why are you so happy?" The man replied, "Your Majesty, I am nothing but a servant, but my family and I don’t need too much - just a roof over our heads and warm food to fill our tummies ."

The king was not satisfied with that reply. Later in the day, he sought the advice of his most trusted advisor. After hearing the King’s woes and the servant’s story, the advisor said, "Your Majesty, I believe that the servant has not been made part of The 99 Club." "The 99 Club? And what exactly is that?" the King inquired. The advisor replied, "Your Majesty, to truly know what the 99 Club is, place 99 Gold coins in a bag and leave it at this servant’s doorstep."

When the servant saw the bag, he took it into his house. When he opened the bag, he let out a great shout of joy… So many gold coins! He began to count them. After several counts, he was at last convinced that there were 99 coins. He wondered, "What could’ve happened to that last gold coin? Surely, no one would leave 99 coins!" He looked everywhere he could, but that final coin was elusive.. Finally, exhausted, he decided that he was going to have to work harder than ever to earn that gold coin and complete his collection.

From that day, the servant’s life was changed. He was overworked, horribly grumpy, and castigated his family for not helping him make that 100th gold coin. He stopped singing while he worked. Witnessing this drastic transformation, the King was puzzled. When he sought his advisor’s help, the advisor said, "Your Majesty, the servant has now officially joined The 99 Club." He continued, "The 99 Club is a name given to those people who have enough to be happy but are never contented, because they’re always yearning and striving for that extra 1 telling to themselves: "Let me get that one final thing and then I will be happy for life ."

We can be happy, even with very little in our lives, but the minute we’re given something bigger and better, we want even more! We lose our sleep, our happiness, we hurt the people around us; all these as a price for our growing needs and desires. That’s what joining the 99 Club is all about.
Most of us are the member of the 99 club. We may have 99 reasons to be happy- but we would rather be sad for that 1 thing that we can't get.

A must have: siteadvisor

With this siteadvisor installed on your PC, you'll never have to worry whether to click a particular site or not. Just download this McAfee SiteAdvisor. After downloading the siteadvisor, a small button appears on the browser toolbar which turns green, red or yellow -depending on the reliability of the site. And when you search with any search engine, it would be rated too. The rating is based on 1) the safety of the softwares downloaded from the site (whether they contain any adware\ spyware\virus\trojans and other malicious programs), 2) the privacy of the user 3) affiliations of the site with other sites 4) on the user's satisfaction (reviews submitted to the sideadvisors). It's cool. Go get it.

Cute Cats

I never liked cats, infact I always hated 'em. But when I see a cat now, I can't help smiling. The reason is this quote- "We will see each other in next life when we both are cats." (from the movie Vanilla Sky ).It's such a cute dialogue from such a weird movie. It's not that I don't like this movie. I do, it's kinda weird though. I'm in no mood to write a review on this movie right now, so will save that for some other time. But it has made me like Cats now. Weird reason to like cats!

Deja-vu

Deja-vu- the most complex phenomenon I've ever come across. What is it? We all feel a sense of deja-vu. I experience it often, and then I wonder what it is. Why do we feel that something has happened earlier though can't tell exactly when and where? What exactly is a deja-vu? There are different schools of thought regarding this weird phenomenon. One believes that it has to do with our previous lives, and the other the pronounces it simply as the 'sixth sense'. I belong to the second one. I'm a firm-believer in human intuition. And my intuition is real strong. But most of the times I discard it telling myself it's a silly notion. At times the hunch is so powerful that though I declare it as utterly illogical, it keeps haunting me- till it really happens. I guess I need to put the faith in my intuition. (And right now my intuition tells me I need to take punctuation classes :P).
A joke I intended to add but forgot. And that makes it more apt. Here it goes-
Right now I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before. :P
